🌿 Cilantro – Love it or hate it? Your genes decide!

✨ Ayurveda meets genetics ✨

At Sattvic Grains, we love exploring how nature and science work together. #Cilantro (also called #dhania) is a common herb in Indian cooking—but not everyone enjoys its taste. Why?

🧠 Here’s the Science:

🔸 Some people have a genetic variation in a smell receptor gene called #OR6A2.

🔸 This gene makes them more sensitive to #aldehydes—natural compounds in cilantro.

🔸 To them, cilantro can taste like soap or metal, even though it’s fresh and healthy!

🌱 Ayurvedic Insight:

Cilantro is sattvic, cooling, and detoxifying. It helps balance Pitta dosha, supports digestion, and cleanses the blood. But Ayurveda also respects individual prakriti (body constitution)—so if cilantro doesn’t suit you, that’s okay!

📿 Sattvic Tip:

✅ If you dislike cilantro, try mint, curry leaves, or fennel as alternatives

✅ Use cilantro in chutneys, salads, or cooling drinks if it suits your taste

✅ Always listen to your body—it knows best
